Hi,
In America, I can buy makeup in Target or Walmart or any drugstore and then return it if I don't like it. No one blinks an eye and it's fine.

Is there any where like that in Yerushalayim? I'd really like to buy lipstick but I want to know that I can return it if I don't like it. The places that I know in Geula, don't seem like places that I can return to. I didn't ask, but can't imagine. They want you to test it in the store but I don't like that pressure.

Any suggestions that you know for fact you can return opened makeup to?

Thank you!

I'd try a tester and see if I like it before purchasing. I'm not sure you can return used cosmetics here.

Superpharm, Hamashbir, and most "kolbo" stores usually carry a wide variety of brands and they have testers. The chain April also has this.

Yes, I've never heard of returning used make up, especially lipstick.

If you don't want to experiment with the available testers in the shop, stick with brands you're familiar with.

(Once my mother's flight was very delayed, and the airline put them up in a hotel overnight. She didn't have any makeup with her, so the next morning she went to the pharmacy and tried on all the testers until she was fully made up!)

Returns in this country in general are not a thing. I don't know if it's even legal to return opened makeup. You can't return tights, underwear etc for sanitary reasons even if it's unopened....

I went to Superpharm, once, and the ladies there stood on top of me. I like my space, especially if I have to try testers and buy without returns. I've heard of April - is that any better? Testers, without salesladies on top of you?

I just thought of a place myself - maybe I can try Shaul Tamrukim. I've bought toiletries there, they have makeup too. Probably can't return but will have testers, I imagine.

What are "kolbo" stores? Like MaxStock stores? They have American drugstore makeup?!?

Thanks everybody! Guess I'll have to wait till America to shop and return. (BTW - it's legal in America to return opened makeup. All the stores do it. )

Superpharm would definitely never take back used lipstick. I once accidentally ordered two bottles of the same color nail polish. I tried to return the second, completely sealed and unopened one but they wouldn't take it. I think they said that cosmetics are absolutely not returnable.

You can ask the shop assistants to leave you alone. I do that. They still keep an eye on you from a distance, but they won't interfere.

Yes, I hate that about superpharm. That's why when I know exactly what I want, I order online and pick it up when it's ready. I also tell the ladies to leave me alone but they really hover. Places like Lior Adika and Shaul Tamrukim have a great selection and good prices and absolutely no customer service to speak of. They are also always packed and crowded. No idea about any return policy.

The ladies at shaul tamrukim are helpful and not on top of you. They have some drugstore brands.
