What’s the difference between the family player and the solo? Looks like the family isn’t available.
My kids don’t have phones and don’t need their own devices
What can I buy to keep on my kitchen counter near a speaker for the family’s home music?

They have new devices now. A new MP3, and the one that looked like a phone they (thankfully) discontinued. If you have a smartphone you could watch the videos, maybe on a computer too.
The mp3 device works well. My kids fight over it.

I think the family player has videos and solo doesn't. Two of my kids have solo players since they don't have any other devices and they work great. If you have an ipad or something like that you can keep near the speaker you can just download the app and pay for a 24 six plan and not buy any device.

Oh, Didn’t know that about the app vs device.
I don’t want videos.

You can always turn off videos in filter settings, whatever device you are using.

Can someone provide a little more info for someone not so techie?
Does this product need a speaker or can play the music?
Can you have more than one user on a device so that 1) favorites etc. can be linked to different people and 2) if you want to monitor/screen/limit and have different users, you can?
What about price? Are there lots of hidden fees?
Any other info appreciated.

You don't need a speaker, although a separate speaker might be louder. My kids like having headphones usually.
You can have as many profiles as you want on the device, but you need to pay for a subscription for each profile.
The subscription price is straightforward. $10/month for 1 profile, $15/month for 2 profiles, $20/month for 4 profiles (and $5/month for each additional). All profile users must be part of the same immediate family (and not their own separate household, excluding married children but including kids away in Yeshiva or sem).

Can someone please explain what the family player is? Is it something I can keep on the counter and everyone listens to? I don’t want each kid having their own mp3. Is it the same thing as the solo, just bigger? I’m confused
