A lot of the recommendations for food prices involved cutting out regular foods.
My family is allergic so cutting out is not an option.
We are allergic to beans, chick peas, lentils, tofu. So we use a lot of chicken and meat.
We're allergic to eggs so even when eggs are cheap, it's not an option.
Im not looking for advice.
I just want sympathy and people who are in the same situation.

It's hard when you can't make any cuts. You do what you have to do to keep your family safe & healthy.

I understand completely! BH outgrew a wheat allergy because the gluten free ingredients were 3x the price. Due to the other allergies, I still only buy specific brands so shopping sales doesn't work. I tell myself at least we're not spending money on takeout, bakeries, etc.

Yup. We can’t do eggs at all, half the family is dairy free so I can’t do it for dinner, so it’s fleshig almost every night,, and 1 is gluten free so all those products are a fortune. I try to limit the gf stuff I buy- I do my own baking, I sooner use rice than gf pasta for dinner, and snacks are more likely to be potato chips than gluten free pretzels.
So yes our day to day food is expensive and it’s a ton of work for me, but I think we end up saving on not buying pizza or take out or frozen convenience foods (which I then spend on cleaning help because all this cooking is a full time job)

Yup, I'm with you.
Between me and my kids, we have allergies to dairy, soy, eggs, tree nuts, peanut, coconut, gluten, corn, peas, so yeah, we don't get to be cheap on foods. I stopped looking at food prices and just hope and pray for the best. We skimp in other areas but not food.
