Every year I make a Chanuka party for my own immediate family, no marrieds yet. One night where supper is extra special with party goods, game, gifts, etc.
I'm making a chunky vegetable soup, a meat board, quinoa salad or fresh french fries (didn't decide yet) and roasted mini peppers. Dessert is a wafer roll menora which will also be the centerpiece.

Bagels and spreads, salad and/or veggie platter with dip, maybe a pasta if someone wants to make but I think bagels with fillings are enough of a main.

I am on the fence.
I am at the end of a pregnancy. My kids want me to host a party for friends but I feel like I am the one who should be hosting (but noone is inviting:))
I would seeve cheesecakes, quiches, noodles with a sauce and baked salmon. Guests would bring salads and chanuka things if they want. I am not frying anything…

I never make latkes for our Chanuka party, the whole house smells like frying, it's a lot of work standing at the stove and they need to be eaten fresh.
Everyone has latkes at home.
Menu is simple:
Bagels
Spreads
Salads
Pasta
Soup
Donuts
Fruit

Nope. Every shul and Jewish org in the 'hood is having something, and that's enough pigging out for me. And I dislike throwing parties altogether. My style is having one to four people for a meal.
