Need a Chanukah gift idea for a SEIT that goes unbelievably above and beyond. I know money is what everyone's going to say and I will also do that but it seems so impersonal so I want to add something with that as well. Budget is $50.

To you it may seem un personal
But that’s what we want ( I am a seit)
Straight up cash
We can choose how and what we want to do with it
So since it’s about her and not about you
Give them what they want

If I give cash, how much is a good amount?

Any amount is good. No such thing as a bad amount of cash

I'm on team thought that counts. Whatever amount of cash you feel comfortable with, but with a warm, personal card.
Cash is only impersonal if you know the person personally. If you don't know what they enjoy and you take a stab in the dark, how is that more personal? But if you want to add something more immediately fun then I'd go with something regiftable that costs little enough that you can also include a gift card/cash with it. Nice gloves or scarf, maybe. Something that you happen to see in a store and think you might like as a gift.

I think a gift card is also a nice idea

But then make the cash seem like something bc if you’re doing both
Again it would be appreciated to just give the cash amount of that item
Instead .
We don’t need soaps or makeup bags we have pleanty of that

Op as a newish seit, what does going above and beyond mean. Don't mean to detail your thread but I'd love if you can just share a bit as I'm trying to learn and grow in my field.

She saw something he was very very behind on, took the initiative and organized a meeting with all his providers and teachers to see what can be done. (We were there as well) Took the plan from that meeting, implemented it amazingly, updates everyone on his progress.
Sends me videos and messages every night of what they worked on.
Makes him a full homework booklet every week that mimics his classmates but is on his level so he doesn't feel different.
Made him a chart for a prize that was substantial (and not cheap that she paid for) for over YT to work on his skills and sent home the work.
I can go on and on and at this point, if she's on here she has definitely recognized herself.
And this is just from this year. It's her second year working with him.

Sounds like you missed her entire post, then, because she also says how much she wants to spend. I suggest you read the entire thread.

Yeah it's really unbelievable which is why I want to do something special for her. But don't worry, I'm sure you're doing great. You don't have to do all this to be a good SEIT. we've had other providers as well and they're all amazing bh because they care.

We had a SEIT who worked with my son for years and always went above and beyond. Some of the things we have done are: a beautiful vase and bought a bouquet to put in, a gift card to a nice restaurant, a cheap gift with cash or a VISA gift card.
Bottom line and most appreciated was the heartfelt card and that we thought of her.
