Cousin's wedding tonight in Lakewood. I am wearing a long (ankle length) navy dress and planned on wearing nude stockings and black heels. A friend said I will look out of place since "everyone" wears black for winter weddings - but she is also not from Lakewood, so wondering if she is correct. I am in my 30's for reference.
thanks for the help.

I say nude, way classier as other poster said and and, you also said you're wearing a long dress...

Thanks, I also think it's classier. But I also want to not stick out - I am not wearing a gown, just a longish dress at the top of my ankle, so some does show.

I think most look for an excuse to wear black but there will always be some nude at a wedding. You should be fine either way.

Do you honestly think people will be investigating the narrow slice of skin peeking out of your ankle-length gown? IMHO, unless your tights are a perfect match to your gown--which is almost impossible to achieve--you're better off with skin tone. Certainly not black.
But then Lakewood ladies wear a lot of things I wouldn't be caught Pesach cleaning in.

At least we don’t talk about people this way. Not sure you want to be so proud of yourself here. And why are you answering about a Lakewood wedding when you despise all the people living here.

I see a lot of nude stockings during the winter for weddings and nicer events in Lakewood.

“Lakewood” has a broad range these days. Yeshivish lakewood circles, mostly black.
Not Yeshivish, more balebatish circles- nude or black totally acceptable.

Yes some people wear nude. It’s not considered off. Most people just prefer black for comfort.

Depends on the crowd. The super yeshivish will not be wearing all black but otherwise I am seeing a lot of nude at events.
