My son is in Yeshiva and they called to ask me for his info to enroll in college program.
Is there anything he can lose out later in life if he joins?

Assuming your son's Yeshiva offers college credits, no

Will he be applying for the FAFSA grant?

He’ll just get college credits. It’s a great idea and will be easier for him if he wants to pursue a degree later. He doesn’t have to use them but he can.

From what I've heard and read on here, it seems that if he uses up his Pell grants in yeshiva, they won't be available to him to use if later he wants to go to undergrad. But hopefully someone can explain this better.

That's true, but if he uses his pell to get the undergrad credits in yeshiva, no harm done.
It also makes tuition in Yeshiva much cheaper 😊.

Not necessarily true. If he wants a degree later, there is harm done. He may not be able to use the yeshiva credits at all towards his degree. And even if some credits can be used, he still uses up ALL of his grant money and won't be eligible for anything down the road.

Why shouldn't he be able to use his college credits as a transfer?
Also, just remember, that she's not actually losing money either way. Because she still has to pay for the Yeshiva as well.

Because if it doesn't align with the college's courses, they may not accept it. If the yeshiva gives him a degree, that's transferable (more likely than just credits). But it would likely not apply to core classes, and he would still need many more credits.
Then there is the tradeoff of who is gaining here from the grants - mom or son? If mom is financially struggling, then it helps pay the bills. But the son won't have money available to him after marriage for him to gain parnossoh skills. So if mom can afford yeshiva tuition, why use the grants to the disadvantage of her son.
Another point to think about is the amount of the grants. It's income based, so if it's applied against the parents income, they may be eligible only for a small amount. If the son applies after marriage when he barely has an income, he can get so much more. So if he uses it now, he loses a large chunk.

It will depend on the school and field. If he wants a degree in engineering, for example, they won't take more than a small number of his credits towards his degree. If I recall correctly, my engineering program only allowed for 6 humanities or social science courses to count towards the degree, out of approximately 30-something total courses required to graduate.
