I may have to have my toddler get the hormone stim test. Has anyone here had a toddler / 18 months old undergo it? I'm very scared
They used to be at 30 percentile for height and is now 3 standard deviations under the first percentile. Weight fell but no weightloss and is gaining nicely. Blood work showed on the lower end growth hormone levels so Dr wants to test them bec they only grew a cm in the last 5months.

I had this with my son at two. Test went fine, the meds they give them make them drowsy so he slept for part of it. He just about passed the test. Endo recommended growth hormones based on his MRI. We asked a rebbe he said to go for a second opinion. Second opinion said he doesn’t need. Went back to the second opinion when he was nine and he’s now getting growth hormones. I’m glad I waited until he was nine tbh. I did not want to be pricking him for 14 years.

Mine fell asleep during the test, everything went fine. Was on growth hormone for years with no side effects, I think it was worth it.

They told me that as well. I recommend you get a second opinion. My son did fine without growth hormones from 2-9. besides being below the chart he was perfectly healthy.

I just had the test today for my child. I already got back one result that cortisol was very high at the end of the test. Does this probably mean he may need the growth hormone? I didn't get the results for that yet but just trying to put the pieces together so far...I know you are not Drs but just trying to figure it out...

High levels of cortisol affects heights so maybe this could be something for your doctor to investigate if this is causing growth delay.
