I thought I understood what I was taught in school with volume but my kids have baffled me.
I gave my toddler a cup with an inch of water in, after they drank from it it spilt but the whole area of the floor was covered in an inch of water.
I tried it with just a cm of water and it was the same situation how does it manage to fill such a large floor surface at such a depth.
Oh and if it's on the table besides the floor it's just double the amount.

Any real scientist able to enlighten me?

Hahah it sounds like my babies with spit up, it covers their clothes and the floor, but when I measure it its not more than a couple tablespoons

Other scientific mysteries:
Why is a suitcase always more full on the way home than on the way out, even though on the way out it contained gifts for your host and you didn't buy anything while you were there?

Why do two kids make four times as much noise as one, and three kids make nine times as much?

Why can one kid recreate in ninety seconds the balagan it took an hour to clean up?

I always say this! You give then a cm of water in a cup and then it's an ocean on the floor

You know those kids sized yogurts?
How come when your toddler is basically done it and throws it it looks like a gallon of yogurt on the floor?
Where does it all come from??
