Looking for an OBGYN in Jerusalem on Meuchedet.
Was recommended to go to Dr Pinelis, but he has no availability till Feb.
I saw in a different thread that someone recommended Dr Aryeh Yaffe on Bruchim (off Bar Ilan)
Has anyone else used him? Can you share your experience?
I am primarily looking for an english speaking Dr, who will actually care for me, and be on top of everything.
He seems to check those boxes, I just want to make sure he is competent and experienced (he seems a bit young...)
Thanks!

I used him for the first time a month or so ago, and I am having my detailed u/s with him tomorrow so I can try to come back and update. He was really nice, english speaking and I felt he was paying attention to me and not jsut to the computer. (my previous dr only looked at my husband and at his screen and I was like hellooo, I am the patient!!) as a matter of fact when I said it was hard to get an appt for the ultrasound, he called the menahal of the kupah in ramot, which is where he does the ultrasounds, and got me an appt on the spot.
He does fetal surgery in a hospital, I forgot which one, but when I heard that I felt that I could definitely trust him since he must be good if he does that... He did not dismiss my concerns even though they were pretty minor, I definitely felt like he was listening to me.
He was recommended to me by ATIME.
eta that the fact that he does the ultrasound himself was a big plus for me.

TYSM for sharing that. Yes, plz update after tom.
Is it a good idea to book the detailed u/s way in advance? How about the standard ones? Does he do those in his regular office during the visit, or do I do those separately in Bet Egged?
How do I book the detailed one, and I assume I need a referral?

Basically the way it works is that for the detailed u/s you do it by a רופא US טכנולוגי, instead of a regular technician. Most times its a random doctor. He does it, but in a separate clinic and in Meuchedets system he's considered like a different doctor. He does it in the Ramot mall clinic, and yes it gets booked up way in advance so book as soon as you can. You do need a referral, you will get it by your first appointment (with any dr)
There's another dr who does it in Ramot-Dr Tauber, and there are definitely more places that you can do it, I'm just not aware of them.
For regular ultrasounds try booking a week or two in advance to be sure. If you're not picky you can sometimes get lucky with appointments two or three days in advance in random locations.

Ok, thanks for that!
Last thing. Where do I take the regular ultrasounds? How do I book them on the Meuchedet website? And should I be taking my 1st u/s and blood test before going to the 1st Dr. appt?

At the first appointment they should give you a printout of all the tests. There are 3 USs. The first is dating, ~9 weeks, skira maarachot, 20-24 weeks, and 36 weeks for size , position and fluid level.
You should have blood tests at least 3x.
Glucose test at 24weeks, not after 30.
A whole bunch of optional tests that I skip.
I call my local kupa for the regular US. They have them once a week in the clinic here.
Otherwise Ramot or Beit Egged.

regular ultrasounds, and detailed ultrasounds need to be booked over the phone afaik. since they need to put in the code of the ultrasound you are taking.
You can look on the website for אולתרסאונד גינקולוגי and see what locations near you come up, and then call them to schedule.
to your other question-should you do us and bw before dr appt unfortunately I have no clue since this is my first pregnancy bh and I came straight from fertility treatments, so I was going to drs the whole time.

Before the US you have to pay the hitchayvut and sign the paper at the secretary. I have payments set up, so I just okay it.

I see on the meuchedet website that there is a אולתרסאונד גינקולוגי in the same clinic as Dr Yaffe is.
Will he simply do it himself when we go for the 1st appt? Or it has to be done separately by a technician?

No, its done by the technician. You need to book the US separately. also make srue you arent booking one for זקיקים- thats for fertility.
