I am new to town and struggling financially. I have been shopping at NPGS but really don’t like it. What’s the next best place to shop? Which grocery has the best prices on dairy?

We don’t buy much meat or bakery items so the most important is the dairy and grocery prices. I heard Nutmeg but I’m not sure.

Bingo is lowest for everyday pricing. Gourmet is great on the sales/ loss leaders but not great on everyday meat or bakery. Aisle 9 is good for meat and poultry specials.

If you get a a chazak card from CCHF for $5/month you save 5% at Evergreen. There are definitely exclusions (sale items, maybe concessions?) but still really adds up.

I think nutmeg has the cheapest pricing on meat and chicken. They have amazing specials every week and I fill my freezer. Never compared their dairy pricing to other stores so not sure about that.

Check out their chicken and meat prices this week -

Bingo is really the cheapest on any Jewish brands, especially things like yogurt and cheese. But they are missing a lot of stuff that I usually buy, so I don't buy everything there.

Also Aldis or Wal Mart...

Gourmet Glatt has great sales and they're other items are not too expensive either. I shop in Gourmet Glatt when I'm doing one stop shipping.

Gourmet Glatt has sales on chicken, meat and salmon which are not bad (I don't live near Westgate) .
I don't find NPGS to be cheaper than Gourmet Glatt on most food.

Cheapest will be Aldi, Costco, Trader Joe or a large grocery store.

Almost everything you need is available for far less than a small "Jewish" store.

Only buy what is absolutely essential at the small Jewish store.

There have been lists of what you can be at various stores like Aldi, TJ or Costco.

And most national brands - and even store brands - are kosher at this point as is fresh produce.

I find gourmet glatt to have best priced meat/chicken. Occasionally Evergreens sales are good also. I also shop for dairy and kosher branded pantry items here

Evergreen for packaged deli and Facon is the best

Bingo for checked lettuce and salad dressing, or rice cakes/snacks

stop & shop/target/costco for fruits, veggies and all other pantry items

I do not use nutmeg for anything, I find most of their prices very unreasonable

Also OP all the kosher groceries have online sites you can use to compare prices on specific products or check sale prices

I started going to Walmart for most everything and filling in with gourmet glatt and I'm saving much more
I also get my diapers and wipes from Walmart (cheapest brand)

I also started going shopping once a week instead of twice a week and my grocery bill is almost half

Walmart website has mixed dried beans in bulk. About 4 to 6 dollars a pound. Delivered.

Quinoa is a complete protein dry grain. Some pre-soak it then also rinse in mesh strainer.

There is a hechsher on all this.

GOYA is a good brand. Most of their things are OU. Check.

Store beans, rice, grains in snap-tight plastic boxes, away from light and heat.
