I want to be the best host! She has come to help me and I’m postpartum moody and demanding so I’m working hard every day to smile and say yes to her requests (“throw this furniture away. It’s no good”)

What else can a daughter do to make her mother feel honored, welcomed, happy to visit? Can’t take her places obviously but want her to feel at home and with my moodiness it’s not always pleasant.

Teach me how to be a good daughter/host. Smile

Let her play with the grand baby!

Whenever my mother has visited any of us post-partum, all she wanted was to spend as much time as she could with her new grandbaby. If she could hold it, ir take it for a walk, she didn't worry about anything else. She wasn't expecting to be entertained, and she wasn't so comfortable cooking in strange kitchens with Israeli ingredients, but baby kept her busy, and let us get a bit of rest.

It's so nice of you, but you come first here so ask for all the help that you need whilst also asking her if she needs anything.
Have you eaten anything mum? She won't expect you to make her food, she'll prepare it herself I'm sure, but just show that you care.
Mum, what can Yossi pick up from the grocery for you today?
