Regulations of doors are quite new AFAIK. No regulation= manufacturers sell whatever they want.

Seems you indeed need a better gas range with turbo burners.

We are moving to the US from EY and I'm already getting nostalgic in the present (also teary), thinking about how lucky I currently am to have the luxury of getting so much enjoyment reading a thread about my current life that I am so blessed to live in Eretz Yisrael.
Everyone- be nice to OP, her tone is a little harsh but I think she was just poking fun.
don't we all enjoy getting laughs at the quirky way things are in EY (if you grew up in the US)?

Are you using a gas stove attached to a stand alone oven or a inbuilt gas stove?
I see a huge difference with the size of hobs in my rental than what is on my stand alone stove of the oven.
