I was exhausted last night, took an early shower, and with my 6wo sleeping in her crib besides me, I dimmed the light and sat chilling with a book on my bed. The doorbell rang which I ignored thinking one of my kids were downstairs.
Doorbell rang again. It was only 9pm, and as I was waiting for an Amazon delivery which was due by 10pm I put on a robe and grabbed my snood and went to open the door.
Opened the door to find my a man from a few doors down returning some eggs they'd borrowed earlier.
I took them, I said thanks, he said thanks and I closed the door.
On my way back upstairs, I felt my snood was a bit loose and decided maybe it's time to replace it. Passing a mirror on my way up, I niticed that I had my teen son's BOXERS on my head!!! I'd folded laundry in my room earlier, it must've fallen out the basket and in the semi-dark I thought it was my snood.
I'd love to think he didn't notice, but I'll never know...the boxers had an orange rim, and he's a staid 40+ accountant, he'd NEVER repeat it to his wife.
My only consolation is that at least they were clean.

Please don’t cry. He definitely didn’t think about it as much as you are if he even thought anything at all. Maybe for a second it occurred to him to note, “hm that’s a different kind of snood than my wife wears,” soon to be wholly swallowed by “I wonder what’s for dinner?”
