Ive been a patient w them for my second birth- Dr Surowitz did my c section
Had a miss couple of month ago (also used them)
I just called them to make an app since im pregnant again bh
They told me they are not taking nee c section patients since they have a staffing shortage!
They dont know if and when they will open back up..
Whats that supposed to mean?! Im an existing patient.. !
They refused to give me an app even for confirmation
They also did not want to give me any other docs name as referral
Who else in Lakewood is good for vbac??

My DIL had exactly your case (without the mis). She was really angry. She ended up by Giovine. She had VBAC and she was very happy with them.

I’m by Dr Morgan in Brick and my last birth was a C-section, I’m pregnant again bh and they were telling me all they’ll do for me to have a vbac (it may be difficult, as I’ll have to be induced early but they don’t want to give pitocin after a c, but they still want to do vbac so they were telling me all that they’ll try)

But I do know that shes very pro vbac and will do wtvr it takes to do avoid a c
And if cv I need to have a c again.. at least im comfortable with her doing it

I’d use dr giovine. But only if he’ll be the one to do the C-section.

How do I make sure that dr giovani will be the one to deliver?

I'm pregnant now after a C. I did some research. Dr Baum in Freehold came recommended for Vbac. I didn't actually use him because they only accept a certain amount of vbacs a month. I ended up staying by the doctor I used previously (Giovine). Dr Tal was also recommended as a good option. Honestly, most OB/Gyns here are not that great:(

There is no way you can make sure of that unfortunately. I had a scheduled C-section so I made sure to schedule it with him. Unfortunately I went for an ultrasound a few days before the scheduled c-section and they told me I can't wait, I have to do it that day. The doctor on call was not a dr I really felt comfortable getting cut open by Sad BH hashgacha had it that quite a few people from the practice were in labor, and she couldn't handle it by herself and do the C-section so Dr Giovine ended up coming down to do it. But there are no guarantees. The practice is so big and he isn't on call so often.

Dr surowitz is out on medical leave so they are short staffed. Find a new OB it's not worth it. I used them recently and had a negative experience with one of their new hires

My close relative had a horrible experience with a midwife in Dr Surowitz's practice (she sent her home when she was in transitional labor, throwing up, etc...and treated her very condescendingly....she ended up giving birth at home with Hatzalah, it was awful.) Do not use a practice that is short-staffed and using incompetent people to handle their volume.

My close friend had a VBAC with Dr. Morgan and I've used him as well (BH no VBAC needs....) I highly recommend him.

If he is sick, he is sick
How can all you people be so angry, isn't a doctor allowed to be ill?
Surely it is more responsible to refuse new cases even if you've been there before rather than take on work they can't cover?

I'm just not hearing this

Yeah but it should be their responsibility to give referrals to current patients.

It makes sense that they wouldn’t take in pregnant patients who have a high chance of needing a c section if they don’t have enough providers who can do that.
I don’t know what they have now but at times there were mostly midwives and not many drs in the practice. It would be irresponsible to have patients who need surgery without the manpower to provide for the patients needs (and maybe end up relying on the resources of the hospital which would probably mean residents inexperienced in c sections doing it?? I don’t know if it works like that but maybe!)
