She communicates well most of the time. Understands a lot. In the last week she has started screaming when she doesn't get what she wants. She wants a specific person to do something for her. She wants to wear something she can't. She wants more milk in her cereal.. hitting is part of it. I dont know where this is coming from. I do not give in and I still give her attention in a calm way.
My dd started doing this after a missed strep infection that I thought was just a virus. It was pandas. 4 is a really common age for onset The sooner you treat it, the less likely it is to turn into a chronic condition.

Strep (my kids only get behavioral strep and no sore throats and they seem to get meltdowns over little things and very angry very quickly)
