Interesting! Are names like Esti, Rivky, Chani, Nechama, Leah etc. the most common names in any Israeli community?

I'm sure in the more yerushalmi and Anglo neighborhoods they will be common or atleast more common.
In my neighborhood besides for maybe Leah the other names you will hear one or 2 ofs.
Only one of my DD has a classmate called chain, none of the other names mentioned and that family is more yerushalmi... They both have 30 girls just in their class, not talking parallel classes...

This could be completely different in other neighborhoods. My neighborhood is in Jerusalem and is an Israeli Kollel community with some working.

I live in Israel, I'm not sure what we are. Modern chareidi? I'm looking for something fine, that won't turn heads but isn't super common.

How can a name be overdone?

Would you say names like Rachel and Sarah are overdone?

There’s a finite amount of Jewish names in existence. And BH many Jewish babies being born, so obviously names will be used often! BH!

They are overdone when you are one of five in the class with the same name!

The limited amount of Tanachi names, and the increasing amount of babies being born, is probably what is behind the search for less usual names with Tanachi references, and the repurposing of Hebrew words as names

My name is Noa, and I can't walk down the street in Israel without hearing my name. So I think it has been overused at this point. It's been in the top 10 names list for 30 years now.

Rachel and Sarah, have nicknames that are used. So you can have Rochel, Rachel, Rochelli in the same class and there is at least some difference in the name.
