No I do not have a favorite child. I love the one who made me a parent. The law breaker who's chutzpadik and constantly needs me to play lawyer, the sweet helpful child, the sneaky little critter always making up stories, the bull dozer fighting and destroying, the one who's been through illness and back by, the underdog and the bully.
There's so many dianamics here but they are all mine gifted to me by hashem and each one honestly melts my heart ❤️

This is very sweet and made me tear up!

Not at all but I love them all in different ways and different times I'll prefer spending time with one over another. And some might exasperate me more than others 😜

I have a least favorite stage. I suffer through it with all my kids until they get past it.

What stage is that, if I may ask?

Each child has flaws and strengths. Parents who have a favorite often have a unique bond with that child.

Do I love them all the same? Of course! Do I enjoy them all the same amount, not really. I can play with my baby for hours. I just love the infant stage.

You know what? You're so right. I love how you articulated it

I certainly connect more to the child who is most like me. I don’t know if the fact that he’s a boy makes it even more so. I just know he makes my heart twist in ways the others don’t.

I only have two kids and there is quite a large age gap between them (over a decade), so they are at very different stages, and they also have opposite personalities. I really don't have a favorite because they are just too far apart to compare.

But it is kind of like having two very different best friends - no favorite of one over the other. One is the opposite of me and is so amazing. One is just like me and is so amazing. They are both my favorite.

If I had more than two kids, or if they were closer in age, maybe I would have a favorite. But the way our family is now, they are just too different to be in the same category, so each one is my favorite.

I love them all equally as in I would do anything to protect each of them. But certain behaviors definitely annoy me, or some do more things that make me feel like an adequate parent. And I don’t have a favorite.

So curious about this. Parents always say they love each child equally, but we’re not robots. Our emotions fluctuate constantly. We tend to like certain people more than others in general, so why wouldn’t it apply to our children too?

I get that parents love all their children (hopefully) but having a favorite- that’s different. It just means there’s something about that specific child you like even more…

So, do you have a favorite child or do you really not?

Of course I don’t mean if you show favoritism, because I don’t think that’s appropriate. But I do think it’s ok to feel more connected to/like a certain child better than the others (without letting them know).

I don't equate feeling more connected to with having a favorite.
I do have a daughter who is so much more like me than all my other kids; she's the kind of person I'd gravitate to as a friend if she were closer to my age and not my kid.
But that doesn't make me love her more than my other kids. It doesn't mean she's my favorite either. Each kid has such unique gifts and qualities that I really value. They are all my favorites.

I have a fav right now, my 3 year old. He’s also the youngest. This happens to be my favorite age, and I enjoy this age with all my children. I find the older they get the harder they are to connect to. I have two that are work to connect to, and three that are natural to connect to. One of them is my least favorite. I try to not let any of this show but I’m human and so I don’t think it’s possible to completely shield it.

I love all equally but there's one that I relate to more because the personality is more similar to mine, does that make sense?

I always like the baby best. I love the infant and toddler stage; it's just so cute!
Of course I love all my kids, but my baby makes my heart melt.
Also the one with big brown innocent eyes. She opens her eyes wide when saying something she thinks is important, and my heart just expands with love for her. She's six.
That's not to say I don't love the others, because I do. I would never show favoritism. Ever. And I love them all.

There are favorite things about each one. Also depends on who is giving nachas atm, and who is making me crazy atm.

No favorites but certainly one child that I connect with better, we have similar interests and way of thinking.
Each child has their own unique qualities and I admire their different strengths. Baby is always the most fun and certainly get the most attention, yet they all had their chance at that.

To me that’s like asking if you have a favorite organ. Do you like your liver better, or your spleen, or your stomach? No, I need all of them.

This question really made me think. One of my children is very challenging in many ways. If I ever had to CHV choose, I know I would choose the others. And the others are more pleasant to spend time with and bring me more joy.

So I was going to write that I have a favorite and then I realized that in some ways he's my favorite. The love I have for him is deeper than that I have for my others. The experiences we went through together make him feel more precious for me. I also davened so hard to have him which also is a piece of it.

I think deep down we probably all love all our children equally. But the different things they do kind of form a layer on top of that.

It's the stage that I like better or worse. My favorite is always the youngest one. As they grow up it's all a mixed a bag.
