I have a bugaboo fox (got as a gift)
And I bought a bugaboo butterfly once my child outgrew the doona and I needed a Stroller.
I have a cheap baby seat ($25 from amazon)
Otherwise my babies spend lots of time on the floor either on their tummy or on their back
Once they can sit upright I also use my IKEA Highchair as another position |
Just curious, why fox and butterfly? Did they each serve a different purpose?

You do not need:
Doona
Butterfly
Beezy
Full size stroller
Double
If you have the butterfly skip the beezy. Does ur full size stroller have the option of a second seat? Is toddler old enough to stand on a board?

iIn addition to the doona x that I use in and out of the car- I carpool and run loads of errands every morning
I have a full size stroller with bassinet and reversible seat that stays home(and a large basket)- bought for my previous baby), a bassinet that attaches to the side of my bed, an ergobaby baby carrier and a bouncer. I also have a play corner with a low hanging mirror, soft flooring, and age appropriate toys that I swap out as needed.
I work from home so I like having many different options
When my baby grows a bit more I am planning to buy the butterfly and keep it in the car.

Yes the toddler will be 3. I will sell the full size stroller after the newborn period or so. I hate it anyway but like a high bassinet for a newborn because it’s better for my back.
I really don’t like butterfly for everyday life in Israel, on uneven ground and stairs, especially with a heavier child.
The full size stroller doesn’t have a sibling seat.
I feel like something is too much, but don’t know which one…

Do you never take the big stroller out? Is it for sleeping and rocking at home?

Why the need for the butterfly and the doona? If both are for travel?
Although the butterfly folds small, so if $$ isnt the issue at hand, it shouldn't be a bother, space-wise.
A stroller with strong wheels is great to have in Israel, with very rocky paths and lots of steps. Is the beezy known for having good wheels?

Also, you can get a buggy board for you toddler to sit/stand on occasionly. Although will not be able to bump up the steps if thats what you need (you can put it up while you do steps though, or go on buses)

Just looked up the Cybex beezy and it looks very similar to the butterfly. What is the point of having 2 (actually 3!) travel strollers? Wheels dont look very big to me at all, but no personal experience. What did you use for your older child when he was a baby?
What about the uppababy cruz?

I got the fox and the doona when my baby was born. Once my baby outgrew the doona I needed a new Stroller so I got the butterfly. I got the doona as a gift, I probably wouldn't have bought it myself. I dont travel by car often enough that it would be worht it for me. I walk a couple of miles every day so I need a good carriage with good wheels a Stroller wouldn't work for my daily use. If I would be in and out of a car I would probably not get a big carriage only a Stroller.

Do you feel like any if items was redundant ir did everything have its use ? |
I think a Graco but im not sure I would have to check. Everything served it's own purpose. See my previous post about why I feel I need all three carriages. Maybe you have different needs.
I also see you posted about having a toddler. I have a 3 yr old. I did not get a double carriage. I made the decision that 90% of the time that I go out with both kids and I feel my toddler needs a carriage too (like if it's late at night, mostly on yom tov) my husband is with me and we can take 2 separate carriages. My toddler is already in school so I don't go out on a daily basis with 2 kids. I have a buggy board, if I ever want to go out with both of them.

Something like this seat is honestly the only baby gear you'll need in the house (besides a baby bath maybe. And a crib/pack n play.)
When I lived in Israel this and a city mini single and double was all I needed.

I hardly take it out, its mainly for sleeping/changing/rocking at home. The only time I take it out is to go to the makolet or gan pickup without the car because I need the basket.

Does a doo a make any other baby gesr redundant or does it just fill in the void it was creaTed to fill in?
I am getting a new reclining doona for the baby I am expecting. I already have a butterfly and I am planning to buy a Cybex Beezy because it has larger wheels, lies flat and is better on Israeli streets, but still compact.
I also will have a 3 year old so might also need a double for longer walks and traveling with two kids
Is it an overkill? Help me brainstorm.
We don’t drive and take busses and taxis.
Do I need a swing at home or can I just rock/wheel the baby in a reclined doona indoors? |
I didn’t get my doona until my baby was 7 months old, and I only got it because we were going to Israel and it made more sense than taking a stroller and car seat. I also have a graco infant seat and a graco stroller.
I didnt have a swing for my baby, although I did have one for my other kids. I had a small bassinet that I put in the living room for when he took naps, and I had a play mat on the floor when he got older.

I have a UPPAbaby Cruz for my toddler.
A car seat in the car.
For another baby I would buy a used stroller with a bassinet to use in the house.
I have a very supportive carrier.
I gave away or threw out any other baby gear. Who has space for all that?

Beezy lies flat and has larger wheels (I compared in store) at least in the back if not back and front.
I already have a butterfly
I don’t have a car seat
I don’t think I need a full size stroller after the age of 6 months and I already have one.
I think I will have to let life happen and see what I actually use. I might just sell the butterfly. Beezy is like only 2 lb heavier than butterfly

My older child hated strollers. I used the above mentioned butterfly and the full sized one but mostly baby carrier. Still traumatized
