I’m in the process of buying a house and it became clear that the lawyer we hired based on the mortgage broker’s recommendation is ineffective. He made so many mistakes that the sellers wanted to pullout multiple times. Bh each time crisis was averted.
We’re closer to closing now and the lawyer is bullying me continuously. There are legal paperwork to sign and he won’t answer my questions about the papers. I was sent incomplete documentation and when I pointed it out I was replied with snark and told that if I don’t send the papers asap closing will be pushed off.
I already called the office and spoke to the girl collecting the paperwork and after asking her to read the papers with me did she agree that they are incomplete. I also asked her why I’m being disrespected and bullied and she started with the “we’re in business for x years”…
What do I do now?

There are so many lawyers out there doing this that I doubt you’ll bump into this one.
If you want to be doubly sure that you won’t, you can pm your law firm and I’ll confirm if it is.
There is nothing like paying someone to have your back and read the fine line and he does nothing but send upsetting emails with disrespect.
I already contacted my districts office to file a complaint against the firm to the bar but my husband will not let me remit it.

Perhaps send them an email, listing your problems with their conduct and let them know that you’re on the verge of reporting if they don’t start doing their job with decency? This sounds awful.

Just get another lawyer. Don't you pay at the closing?

No lawyer wants to take a case once one lawyer has started. I tried hiring someone in the beginning stages but he wouldn’t take it since I already started.

It is possible to switch lawyers, but not easy to find someone who will take an “open case”. Maybe ask around who people have used and see what their lawyer says.

Just change lawyers. You need to feel confident that you are being represented effectively. If you saw a doctor whom you felt was incompetent, wouldn't you switch to a different doctor?
