As an assistant

How much do you make and what does your full “package” look like including hours and days off?

I have no idea if this is typical. But I am a playgroup morah and I pay my assistant only for the hours that she works. I pay her $20/hr and she gets 2 days vacation fully paid per year.
This is generous pay in my city.
Playgroups in my city charge about $350-$400 per month depending on the hours.

I can barely even find a shadow or a babysitter for that price, wow that’s underpaid for such manual labor

I hope that's not typical. Only two days off!
Your paying her less than what you make on ONE kid! How many kids are there?

Yikes, 2 days ofc per year? In israel we get 10 or 12 days off per year.

As I said, this is generous pay in my city.
And no she is absolutely not getting paid less than I make from one child.
I have 12 kids in playgroup and she is getting the equivalent of about 4 kids payment. So I'm making two thirds and shes making one third of the money coming in.
Then I have all the expenses, supplies, food, accountant fees, and all the responsibility. And then I pay taxes on my profits.
And I have to pay subs for her days off. And when I take days off I pay subs.

So sorry no, to you and anyone else who thinks thats terrible of me, she is earning a lot. This is how it pays in my city. To those who think playgroup morahs have it easy, no, youre wrong. Its hard labor and poorly paid at the end of the day.
Thanks anyway for your opinion.[u]

Two days off per year when we follow the school schedule. She gets off all yomim tovim, full vacations etc. This is basically two personal days. Honestly, I was jsut trying to help the OP. Not interested in getting judgemnet calls. I pay her better than most playgroups do in my city. And see my post above and then you will see that she ends up with not that much less than I do at the end of the day... my bottom line profits after all my expenses end up being about $30/hr for myself and I pay her $20
Sheesh. so much judgement. I really regret responding to the OPs request.

Pleas see my post below and yo uwill see that thats how it is in my city. Its generous pay in fact.
I end up with about $30/hr after all expenses, and I'm the one with all the responsibility. She ends up with about $20/hr. So maybe you understand now and will not call it undrepaid. Fact is that childcare is very very underpaid, which is why I am strongly considering stopping. And then people want to know why theres a shortage of playrgoups.

Hmm. Your math doesnt make sense, definitely not one kid's payment, its gotta be a lot more than that... Anyways, I just read that poster's new posts, it now makes sense, she says she's paying her approx 4 kids pay.
To be honest, I was recently offered assistant jobs in a couple of preschools. They were offering me between $17 and $22/hr! So maybe such low salaries are normal?

Right, and if I had to pay that to a sub, I would be making a loss! so clearly it depends on what the pay is in your city. OP didnt post a location, so I was just trying to help by offering my info.
