Baruch Hashem, I was on maternity leave a few months ago, followed by paid family leave. Ultimately, I was unable to return to work after my leave ended due to depression and anxiety. We are really missing the extra income and I wanted to try filing for disability during unemployment. However, I'm not sure what to put as the start date for disability. Technically, it's the week I gave birth but I was already receiving Disability/Family Leave for that period of time. Do I just choose a random date after all of my paid benefits ended?
ETA I definitely qualify as having a disability according to the guidelines and my psychiatrist can provide documentation.

Yes. Don't overlap the time you were receiving paid leave with disability benefits.

Thank you. Should the date be within the past 30 days? And documentation will show that the disability is ongoing for way before this date, will that be a problem?

In what services? I think I have to file by myself.
