We've always struggled with money so for many years I didn't have nice, waterproof boots.
One winter I got so tired of having perpetually wet/cold feet, that I splurged on suede canadienne (I think thats the brand name) boots. IIRC, my mom even chipped in because I was pregnant and so annoyed about my wet feet lol she couldn't handle me kvetching anymore
They've lasted me many wet/snowy winters keeping my feet warm and cozy. I do my best to keep them in good condition, and they still look decent!

Not clothing, but we invested in Ugg sheet sets and king size comforter. Everyday I go to sleep on what heaven must feel like
