I'm looking into camps for my daughter.
Raninu was a choice but it's really a fortune. She knows girls going to camp chaviva. Would anyone be able to chime in and share how they would describe the camp and the girls?
Thank you!

just so you know they are more expensive then other camps. More of a Jappy crowd for sure first half. pretty much impossible to get in first half and they opened registration over a week ago.

She would want to go second half.
I guess the girls in school and the neighborhood are more jappy. Even though it's not what I like, it's also where we ended up. Don't think I can fight that.

My girls go to chaviva. Not a jappy camp at all, in my experience. Wonderful staff and girls.

My DD goes to Chaviva. It's a nice mix of BY-type girls, in-town and OOT. There are jappy girls and some less so. It's a warm and friendly camp, not too big.

My daughter goes second half, not jappy, would say middle of the road most girls have brand name sweatshirts but other than that they dress simple.

Thank you all.
Yes I know applications opened last week. My daughter anyhow wants second half. I didn't feel like I could apply until I knew what we wanted. I trust in God. So I'm sure if she's meant to go, it'll happen.
Thank you all. Sounds like the kind of camp that would suit her. I appreciate everyone taking the time to respond.
To the amother who said it's so expensive.. 300$ for sleep away doesn't really make it or break. it it's so expensive anyhow.

I agree. You mentioned raninu was expensive so I was just pointing out Chaviva is also more than other camps.
Didn’t realize raninu is that expensive… really crazy!

just my 2 cents. I've been sending my daughters there every year since 2019. I do not find them to be particularly jappy. Of course there are some. (just for context: My husband is a rebbe). I do find them to be warm and focused on creating a great program both ruchnius and gashmiyus. But I gotta say, most important to me: They have a crazy-great time every year. they forge new friendships and keep up with them throughout the year. I will spare all of you my ramblings, but Camp Chaviva was one of the best things I did for my daughters and family.
