Get a newish car or fix old one

I have a 2004 car with low mileage.
Its in pretty decent condition but a few things needed to be fixed that normally don't go.
I always think something will go wrong with it.
Also doesn't have anti lock and I am a bit nervous to drive in the snow.
do I fix it and keep it or does it make sense for me to buy another used car that is a bit newer but probably higher mileage than what I have now?
Willing to spend 7000 plus trade in my car which I probably could get around 2000 for.
Don't know what to do.

A 2004 car in decent condition and low mileage is worth more than $2,000 in private sale. Obviously it really hinges on the car model and your location, but any working car is worth $2,000. Good condition and low mileage is worth much more.

If you're worried about safety, it may be worth the upgrade. But 7k isn't really much, your next car will also be 10 years old

You're right. Only heavy Vehicles needed ABS by 2000, all Vehicles were mandated to have ABS only after 2012.
I remembered wrong.

Ten years ago, I researched this when my friend's car slipped and slid during a storm.

In 2004 it was an option that you needed to pay for in 2005 they started to put in ABS in all cars.
It's a Hyundai which I think is not the best car.
Maybe I could get 3000 but it needs a few things fixed which might be several hundred dollars.
