They also accept PJ Library grant which is not dependent on attending Jewish Day School. Some smaller communities do allow One Happy Camper for kids not in Jewish schools but most don’t.

Maybe around 2200 but I’m not 100% sure.

Transportation comes out to $500 we’re most camps are more like $120-160

Are the newer camps cheaper?
Travel camp for 12k isn’t so bad, think how much travel costs have increased. Especially if they’re flying and have luggage.

Why is it crazy if people are still sending?

A 12k traveling camp is clearly for profit, tbey are charging what the market wlll bear.

For the simpler camps, the cost of food and labour is up so much its hard to keep costs down.

Not everyone lives in a place where they have the grants, and in some places they go by the one family grant. Even if they have pj library.
I think the camps that don’t take the grants are anyways cheaper, like tuition without vouchers is generally less than tuition with vouchers.

According to google, Agudah Toronto is $2111.04 with todays exchange rate, not including tax, plus you pay a ton for transportation (think a couple hundred each way) and you need a passport.

Transportation is $500 USD. Which is about $350 more than other local camps.

Transportation from Toronto to camp is free so if you can get to Toronto yourself that is great. Also sometimes you can find great ticket prices on Porter air even with 2 large suitcases cheaper. Just need to find transportation to the Toronto bus.

Some years they have a bus to the billy bishop airport for free or a minimal cost.

But doing bus transportation has less headaches then flying.

The exchange rate for things like canteen and tips is great and evens it out a bit. (You pay tips through their app and they do the exchange)

Camp Bais Yaakov sure does have mother's helper camper age. Last year they offered any accepted campers if they wantto switch to be mother's helpers because they did not have enough mother's helpers for all the staff.
