My oldest is 4 and gets screen time on Fridays before shabbos and those long Sundays for 1-2 hours each day, none during the rest of the week. She used to watch Barney, now she likes a couple Netflix kids shows like Gabby’s Dollhouse that I noticed had featured episodes on g0yish holidays. We’re RWMO so most of our friends have their kids watch typical Paw Patrol or Bluey type things from an iPad and generally not a TV (though some do have). What are my best options for TV shows for her age that’s frum - made? I’ve heard of the service Toveedo from this site.

From a purely developmental perspective (hashkafa and chinuch aside) I would not allow real cartoon TV because the images move super fast. Old shows or shows with real people like old sesame street are fine but definitely not any modern cartoon. Toveedo is really slow in comparison because they obviously don't have as big of a budget which is an advantage in this sense.

My 4 year old also loves Toveedo. With the holidays coming around, I can't stop it from watching shows about the holidays it's and he talks about it a lot and that disturbs me. A Jewish kid should not get excited over a tree in the doctor's office.

I'm very happy with Toveedo. Lots of great shows there. And a very nice variety, everything from cartoons about car Town to a blippi style show sports and science.

I recently stopped all non Jewish tv shows in our house- and put on uncle moksha concert videos. My kids love it and dance along, so it’s interactive which is nice

Occasionally I also put on work out videos because they love to try it out, especially when they do “loga” (yoga)
