I don't know about the Fig in particular, not many of these kosher flip phones have different options of what you want to allow and then there's also the service... Sometimes a phone itself won't block functionality but you can have a service plan that does not allow MMS.
We have 2 almost identical flip phones, one TAGged not to allow texting but the other does. We turned off texting on our daughter's phone plan until we were ready for her to have it, even though her phone supported it. And even then, we didn't turn on data to be able to receive videos.

We have 3 Fig phones in my house. My son who is a chosson, my 18 year old daughter and I. You can only watch videos that were recorded on your fig phone, not one that was texted to you nor one that was bluetoothed. and even the ones recorded on your own device sometimes do not work. You do need data on your phone service because of talk to text feature, texting pictures and other features.
there is no browsing.
this is all on the fig II.
The fig mini, I believe, has only talk and text or only talk options

I feel like it’s the least of the problems facing in town teens these days
My 13 bought himself a refurbished phone and got free texting to Textnow app. And figured out how to sign on Xfinity internet.
I think it’s worth giving her what everyone else has so she doesn’t feel the need to get what she wants and more on her own
