They hired non-pregnant Ora. So I could see how one might think it’s unethical to swap her for pregnant Ora.

The reason I don’t think it’s an ethics issue is because in our world it is somewhat par for the course.

It's entirely par for the course. People get pregnant, people get head colds, people get back pain and insomnia, people age. My boss is a rational person. She didn't hire me thinking I'd never get pregnant or sick or distracted; she hired me because she knows I'm a dedicated worker who will find a way to get the job done regardless.

Plus, I'm in Israel, where half the men have been missing for half the year because of reserves. Even pregnancy would look like small potatoes compared to that.

Also an SLP and same. Have no energy for my kids when I come home:

But can I ask where you work that you get health benefits?

I am not that poster but in the same boat. Gave birth 2 weeks ago and not going back until after pesach, fully paid until January, 80% pay from then through March.
I work directly for a public school district in NJ. Excellent benefits are why I do what I do, working full time straight for the district. Losing about $3000 this year for only working 5/12 months, for example. Or excellent health insurance with minimal copays and no deductible...

I feel like this poll is missing the most important option: my job performance suffers, but is still adequate most of the time.

"Don't feel sick" and "barely manage" are two extremes and I'm guessing most of us are somewhere in between.

Your right that makes sense don’t know how to add

Ah ok. I’m in NY and been trying to get a DOE job for awhile but I’m still with an agency and fee for service. With my last baby I also got like 60% or something it wasn’t a lot maybe 6k in total for 12 weeks off
