Banyan tree is like staying in a frum bungalow colony but you don’t see too many people

Sounds amazing! Do you know which villa you stayed in? I’m looking at the serenity pool villa or the beachfront terrace pool suite.
And did you eat breakfast in banyan tree?

Bliss pool. Didn’t feel the need for an upgrade at all.

We ate there, it was decent and basic. If you book with a travel agent you should be able to get breakfast included in your stay. We also ordered breakfast from Mas Pan, was delicious.

You order to the hotel?
Where else did you eat dinner?

Yes, a lot of places deliver. Be careful with hechsheirim.

Supper we ordered in from platinum grill and ate out in the grill in the grand Hyatt. We went back a second time to the grill, the food was amazing.

Mexico is a big place. Cancun and playa are resort towns. Don’t think anyone here plans on chilling in Mexico City.

Funny, cuz we were saying the whole time how much more “kosher” it was in cancun than Miami. The worst we saw was a Victoria secret ad in the airport LOL

We stayed in the banyan tree, went to the beach early was so quiet. Afternoons in our private pool, and then late afternoon biked around the resort and then went back to the beach again. Went out to eat at night in playa.

Restaurants, shopping, basically everything there has lots of women not dressed tznius or bathing attire. It’s one big beach resort place. Sure if you stay in your room the whole time and go out early am you can avoid but then why bother going to Cancun specifically. Biking around the resort there is hard not to see anything compromising unless that is also only off hours.

Thanks so much! You were able to eat at the grand Hyatt without staying at their hotel? Nice!
Anything else you did there besides biking and swimming?

Dunno, restaurants were totally fine, 5th Avenue at night was also totally fine…

Biking around the resort, you will see some people for sure, but definitely not worse than Miami!!

Where else am I get a completely private pool in tropical weather with kosher food and minyan? Cancun is great! Miami is hard to find that level of privacy and way more expensive if you do. You can swim naked if you way too in the banyan tree LOL

I stayed in playa and felt very safe. I just left my rings at home just in case. There are 2 Chabad in playa, one had minyan during the week and the other on shabbas. The Hyatt is a bit far from Chabad but still walkable. We stayed in an airbnb but didn’t stay for shabbas.

Which area is best to stay in?
For more of a tighter budget , which hotel is best and is an airbnb recommended/safe?
Is there a need for a car?
What fun activities is there to do?
What kind of clothing do I need to take along?

I stayed in an Airbnb in playa with private pool and was so much cheaper than a hotel. I made sure to pick an Airbnb in a condo type building with a front desk and amenities, so it felt like a hotel and felt safe.

Yes I agree! Miami is better than cancun, but Banyan Tree is not in cancun it's in playa del Carmen and it's very secluded so it's really appropriate for a frum couple.

Thanks in advance

Cancun is more safe than other parts of Mexico but American tourists have been killed at resorts there. It seems like Playa is a bit safer.
