Since I was a young girl.
I always felt that dresses made me look shorter and heavier. I stick with skirts and tops even though dresses have really been in style for years.
Sometimes I’ll attend a simcha or go to shul and even though I’m dressed up I can be the only one not wearing a dress!
I really wish I could find something that would look nice on my figure.
I’m very short. Just 5ft tall and a size 12. I’m bigger on the bottom.
Would anyone have any dress recommendations for someone my size?
I’ll be making a simcha soon. Do I show up in a skirt and top?
What type of dress could I wear?

I find exquisite to have such nice cuts on their dresses and a nice size selection. They are pricier - most are $300

Well… that’s what I’ve been doing.
It’s just that I wonder if there really can be a style dress that would actually flatter my figure. Maybe I’m missing something since everyone wears dresses.

What I meant was that if dresses don’t look good on you, don’t feel pressured to wear that just because other people are.. sometimes popular styles just don’t look good on everyone. And people wear them anyway but don’t look great.

I can see from your description why dresses don’t work for you. Why would you insist on wearing one if they do nothing for you?
I would wear what suits me. You want to look good and feel good.
There are many many styles I will never wear because they don’t suit me. Thank Gd ypu know what works for you so wear it!

Who cares about the crowd
Wear what works for you
If you wear a monochromatic top, skirt and possibly belt that would look great for a simcha.
I agree fit and flare dresses are flattering with bell sleeves to balance out the bottom to top.
A pretty velvet jumper with a silk top underneath would look great also. Just some ideas...

I have a similar figure and wear dresses all the time. I wear dresses that are fitted on top and are a line at the bottom. I think I look good

What about a maxi dress? Do you look good in gowns?

I think you should aim for a dress with either a peplum top/illusion top or cape, or different media on top and bottom. Perhaps something with diagonal lines that helps with the image of top and bottom.

This makes sense. Are you referring to an overlay?

Yes and make sure to find petite so it flares out at the right spot.
