I am expecting a baby boy and had a few questions.
For the shalom zachor, who is invited? Is it just for men? Or women and children also welcome? Are mom and baby expected to be there? What about older siblings? Also what is served at a shalom zachor? Should I be baking desserts in advance and freezing them?
For the bris, what do parents and siblings wear? Shabbos clothes?
Anything else I need to know that I haven't thought of.

This is very community dependent. In my neighborhood shalom Zachor is in the house mother and baby typically attend and the ladies stop in but if the mother is still in the hospital or doesn’t want to host people will write for men only on the invite.
I bake a few things to have in the freezer but they usually end up getting saved because friends drop things off. You want to have beer and chickpeas other then that any pastries, candy or chocolate will work. I’ve been to some where people are fancier and more into tablescapes but it’s not the norm.
Older siblings depends on their age and time of year if they’re sleeping or not Friday night otherwise they’re there and friends of theirs come as well.
Bris is Shabbos clothes for everyone in your family.

What is done in your community? Do the mom and baby attend, and women join?
Keep in mind,if you have the baby Thursday or Friday, you may still be in the hospital on Shabbos! One of my boys was born Friday morning, and I watched all the men walk to to my house for the Shalom Zachor from my hospital room window! Another son was born Wednesday, and I had just come home with him just hours before the Shalom Zachor! I attended in a Shabbos robe. But it was a fun homecoming!
As for the bris, Shabbos clothes are definitely appropriate attire.
