Hi, anybody know if you can still receive WIC if you prefer not to give kids immunization records? Or that documentation is an absolute requirement in NJ?

Is this a requirement in other states? I’ve never heard of this in NJ.

I thought so because when you google Wic nj what is required it comes up with this list:
(I think proof of income not needed if you’re on Familycare). Were you asked for the universal health record, if you weren’t asked for immunization records directly?

You will also need to bring the following materials:
Proof of identity.
Proof of pregnancy.
Proof of income.
Proof of residency.
Your health care referral form (if completed by your doctor or other health care provider)
Your children's Universal Child Health Record (UHCR) ...
Your children's vaccination records.

I did not need a vaccination card.. nobody asked me for that. I used the office in Toms River.

If your kids are on NJFC they won’t ask for that stuff (in my experience).

ETA I joined wic initially during covid. But I was never asked to give any docs. I’ve done everything over the phone.

I recently got on WIC- I needed SSN cards and passports if I had, a utility bill/mortgage statement showing my address, and a paper I wrote stating I’m unemployed with my signature (though they didn’t even ask for it)

I did not have any medical records or doctors notes

At the onboarding appointment they took our blood for iron levels and checked our weight

I’m new to Wic and it’s time for recertification this month. Do I need to call to schedule an appt or do they call me?

They used to request immunization records. I wasn't asked with my last few kids.

The should call you. If it's passed the day you get benefits loaded, call the office.
