Hi!

Thinking of staying here a few days, I think it works out cheaper than day tickets. Have a few questions for those that have been before please!

1. Is it worth the hype/price?! Paying money not points. Or do you know a cheaper way than just booking thru their website? Either day tix or hotel stay.

2. Is it ok to wear a tznius swim dress there?

3. How long would be best to stay, can it be done in 2 nights stay or even 1 night? Interested in the aquarium and waterpark

4. What are the extra costs I should take into consideration there?

5. What else is there to do in Nassau? Would probably go for a bit longer but only spend a shorter time in atlantis itself

6. How did you get around if u didnt only stay in atlantis, is a rental car required?

7. Will I be able to see the dolphins, stingrays etc without paying extra for an experience?

Anything else I've missed or useful info please lmk! Thanks!!

Here are my comments:

1. Is it worth the hype/price?! Paying money not points. Or do you know a cheaper way than just booking thru their website? Either day tix or hotel stay.

This is entirely up to you and subjective. We love it there and stay yearly. We usually do the flights through points and pay for our stay at Atlantis in cash.

2. Is it ok to wear a tznius swim dress there? Of course. I always do.

3. How long would be best to stay, can it be done in 2 nights stay or even 1 night? Interested in the aquarium and waterpark.
The waterpark is HUGE and the aquarium is not. We typically spend 4 nights and 5 days there, flying in on Sunday and coming home Thursday. That's plenty for us and we enjoy a routine of similar things every time we go. First day, check in by afternoon. We go hang by the pool until dinner and then get a good night of sleep. Next day, we can waterpark it or spend time in town. We usually go to Ardastra (it's a local animal sanctuary and enjoy all the animal interactions) and spend time downtown at the pirate museum, wood carvers alley, etc. We also usually have dinner in our room and then roam Atlantis by shuttle from the Royal and walk to the Coral, then shuttle back to the Reef, where we stay. There's a movie theather there (free), tons of shops to look at, the marina... so much to roam! Also, the aquarium can be walked nightly and we usually do that too. Animal interactions in Atlantis cost extra. We also usually hire a private boat to take us island hopping for a day but that's just our thing.

4. What are the extra costs I should take into consideration there? Whatever you want to spend that's extra. If you don't buy snacks usually, then don't do it there. We get sodas in the waterpark and will buy bags of chips here and there, maybe get my daughter some braids put into her hair, pick up souvenirs...

5. What else is there to do in Nassau? Would probably go for a bit longer but only spend a shorter time in atlantis itself. See comments above.

6. How did you get around if u didnt only stay in atlantis, is a rental car required? Taxis. Our hotel always has reputable drivers waiting and we usually pay for the day for them to shuttle us wherever we want so it's safe and cost effective. For a daily rate, we typically pay about $100.

7. Will I be able to see the dolphins, stingrays etc without paying extra for an experience? Through glass, yes. Touching and interacting, no.

Hope this helps!

Wow thank you so much, that's super helpful!!

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer everything!!

If staying in the coral (cheaper option) can you still access all areas? (You mentioned getting a shuttle between royal/coral/reef, what is this shuttle for?)
Is the difference the level of luxury of the hotels /rooms?

Hiring a private boat to go island hoping sounds amazing, what kind of cost is this and where do you book this?

Do you take your own food? I read somewhere about having to pay extra for a fridge in the room but can't see how much it costs

Thank you so so much again!

So we spend more for the reef because there's a full kitchen in our room. We bring all our food and don't eat out so it balances out, IMO. The reef and cove are more private and access is restricted to those staying there. Better beaches and class of people (again, just my opinion.).

The hotel shuttle is free and takes you from side to side. So we hop on at the reef and ride to Royal or the marina and roam from there in the evenings. It's a free adventure. Coral is economical but not somewhere I've stayed. I hear it's good enough but never been. Renting a fridge makes sense but we don't like to live off sandwiches so for us, having a stove and microwave is helpful. We bring things like frozen meatballs in sauce and I make fresh spaghetti. Done. Or frozen chicken and veggies in garlic sauce and I make fresh white rice and a salad.
Renting the boat is our annual thing. It's about 6 hours, private and we always go with the same company, Captain Carl. I think it's about 775 or 875 for the day. Usually the highlight of our trip. We go to Rose Island and explore sunken pirate ships, snorkel...
We love it there and spend a lot of time so we've gotten to know the Island and natives well. It's a wonderful trip. Enjoy!

I know that this is not what you are asking but…

I have never stayed at Atlantis but did stay at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar (in the Bahamas) this year and it was great. They have a kosher restaurant and kosher food truck (food is delicious). From my understanding it is more up to date than Atlantis

There is a comfort inn next to Atlantis that gives free passes to the waterpark. We’ve stayed there.

Thanks so much for all the info Orchid, really appreciate!

Re Baha Mar, I looked into it previously but prefer the idea of Atlantis.

Re Comfort Inn, I did hear about that, but the room rates booking directly aren't so different to coral Atlantis. But I see now it can be cheaper on priceline. How did it work with the Atlantis tickets, did you have to queue every day to get a wristband? What about changing before/after the water park and was there a time limit on the wristbands? How was the actual hotel and was there a fridge in the room?

Thanks all!

The beach at atlantis is probably the nicest beach we’ve been to by far!! Whitest, softest sand accompanied by the clearest water! That being said, for us rn, the conveniences of kosher food and other amenities at baha mar outweighed that and we choose to go there.

To answer your questions:
beautiful resort, definitely worth the hype.
You can be tznius anywhere and everywhere!
We went swimming with the dolphins at atlantis, an experience id def recommend.
We used a shuttle bus from the airport (u can book a limo if u fancy) and taxis to get around, however we only did 1 grocery run so we only left the resort once.
