my dd is 3 and she is afraid to make on the potty. She has fears of many things like dogs (she used to love them), getting her picture taken by anyone else other than me and dh, and anythings new. She is more than ready physically, she knows when she needs to make, but she's afraid of the toilet and potty seat. How can I get her over her fear and get her potty trained alrady!!?? Oh, and she's VERY stubborn and strong willed (I mean really!!!). TIA

This might be controversial but she might be more scared of letting out into nowhere than of the potty. If I would be a therapist, this is what I would try. Buy disposable square sheets, I think they are called jockeys or something, use din hospitals on beds?

Spread it out and have her sit on it. make this huge fuss when she pees on it. the next time, she must squat. You get the idea?

it's funny that you mention that, cuz we tried potty training her earlier this summer and she refused to pee in the potty. She would pee on the floor or in a basin/bucket. Still she screamed and cried, but she did it. But that got VERY messy! This time we're aiming to get her to make ON the potty--I hope it works!

Then I’m glad I mentioned it. going into the mind of the child gives you ideas. Think of what she is really afraid of…

I had lots of issues iwth my daughter and I was told to make sure they can reach the floor when they sit bc it makes them feel more comfortable. apart from that I dont know really mine would do number 1 just not 2 for a while.

I just remember I was also told to first if there is a problem get her to sit on the potty with the diaper on and make like that, after that line the potty with the diaper, then take the diaper away totally. and to do it slowly and it little stages and not to pressure them at all
