I don’t see any direct flights for less than 5,000….
Are there options I didn’t think of?

Round trip, Newark to TLV, and flying back to JFK. I also just booked a flight for my son to go back to yeshiva after pesach, round trip around $1700. What dates are you looking at that it’s so expensive?

No idea, I booked with el al and wouldn’t rely on another airline right now.

You’re looking at a very expensive travel time. Between chanuka and x-mas, yea it’s going to be super expensive.

Are you on social media? I assume not as the costs of flights have been discussed for months and months and months. It is 5 weeks before chanukah and every economy seat is sold out on the East Coast. Tickets are way cheaper in January (like 1,100 round trip from Boston).

I am aware that there are issues with flying! I just had this Chanuka idea this week and now I see that it really can’t work out. It’s really the only time my kids could miss school. They don’t have winter break and we have a simcha here in the summer so we can’t travel then.

My friend is making a wedding here in Israel the week of Chanukah and none of her family members can get tickets.
There are no seats left.

Just want to say that I prefer a stopover when its long enough

We have been doing this for years, elal to and from a major european city and whatever airline is cheapest back.
We book the flights separately and we leave the luggage in the airport for a relatively cheap charge, take a minimum of 24 hours between the flights and usually take a hotel in the european city.

So far I have done Rome ( my favorite), London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Vienna, Athens, Paris.

I sometimes have done one city on the way in, and one on the way back.

Pesach we saved 3,000 compared to elal on three tickets AFTER the really nice hotel, taxi's in Rome, some attractions, some souvenirs, and splurging on food.
