Growing up my father was pretty makpid that didn't eat fleishigs 24 hours before Shabbos with rare exceptions only.

My husband was not makpid but we do easy dairy dinners Thursday night because it's easier and we like pasta.

Sometimes I find it easier to do hot dogs /burgers /grilled chicken since I'm busy cooking fleishigs anyway.

lol didn’t know it was a thing not to eat fleishig before shabbos, just whatever is easiest is what’s for dinner Thursdays cuz it’s a busy night w shabbos prep and I’m usually not in the mood of making major supper after the whole week.

We don't eat a lot of fleishigs but we usually do on Thursday night actually-- it's too complicated to deal with dairy if I'm cooking for shabbos.

We have turkey on Thursday. Every other week. Other weeks we have eggs and bread. But my family doesn't really like dairy. That's limited to Sunday lunch.

Same, lol.

My kids and dh usually have dairy, because I just don't have patience to cook. I have grilled chicken because I'm trying to lose weight and if I eat parve/milchig for dinner I always need a second and third dinner later on TMI

We usually do something that doesn't need much cooking like deli salad, sausages & peppers, hot dogs & corn salad, or something similar. Almost never dairy.

I also grew up with this idea not to eat fleishigs before Shabbos. We don’t usually have dairy though. We generally have fish Thursday night.
