I've been on the heavy side all my life. Not obese, but def overweight. And grew up with plenty of comments from well-meaning relatives. I really struggle with body image, especially 4 babies later...
I was thrilled to have 2 petite, fussy-ish eaters who are slim to average weight. My 3rd child is rather chunky (he's 18mo) and it really bothers me. He's a great eater and although we eat pretty healthy at home, there's no denying he's big. And I know it's wrong of me to think badly of his size, but I do. I wish he was slimmer - I know what it's like growing up that way and don't want it for him!
Any way to change my mindset to more positive?
I'll also need to tell relatives to stop the comments with him, they've already started

They can easily slim out.
DD 7 was a chunky toddler till about 5, she is now skinny and she is and has always been the best eater. Loves all types of food and has a healthy appetite.
As long as they know when to stop eating please don't look at the weight now, it means absolutely nothing!

This. Also tell relatives how much or how little your children eat are not their business. They are welcome to tell you their concerns quietly when the kids aren't around and you will discuss them if relevant with your husband and pediatrician.

Being big when they are toddlers is no indication of the future.
In any case if it’s in your genes there is a big chance a kid of yours will be bigger (even if they start out petite). So please get therapy if you don’t want to ruin your kids.
They need to feel and be loved exactly the way they are!
And there’s no reason not to!
