I just got this letter. BH im not going to continue this coming year with them for good reasons but what is Stars going to do?

Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am writing to inform you of an important update regarding the Nonpublic Supplemental
Services Program (NPSSP/STARS) for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Due to a
significant shortfall in IDEA funds, the NPSSP/STARS program has not been approved for the
new school year.
I understand that this news is disappointing and may cause concern for your child’s educational
plans. To assist you in exploring alternative options, the district will be holding a virtual meeting
on August 15, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. via Zoom. This meeting will be led by our Early Childhood
Supervisors, Sara Garfunkel and Heni Mozes, with the participation of Master Teacher, Shainy
Schloss. During this session, we will discuss possible alternatives and next steps for your child’s
early education.

Probably because the alternative to stars is sending to linden/lecc

It says “ the district will be holding a virtual meeting” so it sounds like this is not a stars meeting.

I feel so bad for them. It’s so last minute too.

It's terrible, last minute for stars, their employees and students and last minute for the district who is obligated to accommodate these children for the upcoming year

Yikes. Thus is terrible.
If anyone has any hesitation to send to LINDEn (lecc), pls don't he nervous. I sent my son there for 3 years and he did amazing bh

Our parent body received an email from the BOE today about lack of funding. Please be advised that the BOE was informed that it is not an option to close Stars, and they are working with askanim to obtain the funding. We look forward to opening STARS with student orientation on September 5th iyH.

Please be aware that although the BOE will present LECC as the only option on today's Zoom meeting, a lot of work is being done behind the scenes to obtain the needed funding for STARS. We will let you know as soon as it's resolved.
