I need to take my son to dermatology appt. No docs are open the time that he's available. He ends every day at 8pm. What do I do? He says take him during lunch break but it's not enough time to get back and forth.

Early Friday afternoon? Sunday?

Unless it's important enough for him to miss school.

See also if you can get earliest appt of day. Have him daven early at a local shul. Most likely can get there for first shiur.
Or Friday of off Shabbos. Problem next most boys have off next thanksgiving weekend.

To the extent possible, I schedule appointments for my Mesivta (and elementary) boys for the general studies part of the day. Then they either go back to yeshiva for mishmar/ night Seder or they just go home. Obviously if your kids are out of town then you need to schedule when they have off shabbosim.

Talk to your son about which part of the day is easiest for him to miss with the fewest repercussions. Especially if the English period right after lunch is a subject that is easy to make up, that's probably your best bet--start the appointment during his lunch break, finish it up during first period.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I am in Lakewood so there is no English in his Mesivta! I made him dentist appt for next off shabbos so no time for both! They are only open 1 Sunday a month which is booked and Fridays they offered me in middle of day. Next Bain Hazemanim is probaby Pesach!
