Looking for a cheap hall or venue in Lakewood area for a significant birthday for about 50 people. Our homes arent big enough, but a small hall is fine.

Ideally one we can bring our own food to in order to keep costs down.

Any ideas or know pricing?

I don't know the pricing but Ohr Tuvia on Park Ave is supposed to be very well priced.

Don’t know how much this place is.

My sister in law is in charge of the scheduling of a small local shul basement hall and one of the reasons the fees are so high - She said in order to get a reliable place to come down and clean between every reservation is expensive. There are bathrooms, kitchen. And it needs to be 100% reliable. I think it’s 1/2 the cost of the rental

I think Rabbi Blech's shul on Madison Avenue is known to be on the cheaper side. No idea how much though.

Most of these places only allow you to bring in cold, homemade food.
You can't warm up homemade food in their ovens and many won't allow you use the counters in the kitchen for honemade food.
Just to be aware since you mentioned in your OP making the food to keep costs down

Maybe first find a well priced caterer and see which halls they use?
I once went to an affair catered by yonis cuisine and it took place in the basement of the caterers house. It was small and not fancy but I have no idea how much it was.
Unless you planned to cook and serve on your own and you’re just looking for a place…

Ive seen this done and done this personally as well (but the halls were a higher price point so looking for cheaper).

It's a buffet birthday party. We just need space for everyone to sit.

Caterer costs go up fast. We're sharing the cooking. Will probably hire a waiter - but that costs extra caterer or not.
