I’ve binged every night for the past two weeks.
I feel sick and I’ve gained 6lbs. That’s how much I ate in the hour my husband was out at his nightly shiur.
From today this stops. I’m cutting out all the foods that once I start eating them I can’t stop. I’m clearly an all or nothing type of person so this is the way I’m trying to get over this.

Based on the way you're describing your binge episodes, more restriction is not the answer.
I reccommend getting in touch with one or both of these:
1. Therapist specializing in binge eating
2. Intuitive Eating Registered Dietitian

The rest of the day I eat healthy and controlled.
So why would restricting at night not be the answer?

My most regrettable food related decisions most often come from when I am tired and/or lonely, like when DH is away (he has had lot of army reserve duty this past year).
Like you, the rest of the day is usually easier for me to control.
What helps me is sticking to intermittant fasting routine, so for me it is 9-5 eating and no eating after 5pm. I make sure to have a full healthy meal right before, and if I really want a treat I tell myself that ice cold soda water is my treat. Hope this is helpful.

Certainly is helpful- thank you.
I might have to stretch it to no eating after dinner because it’s always pretty late. But that binging happened always when cleaning up after dinner. So hopefully that will help me hold back.

Yes. We got to the bottom of why I was turning to food.
The RD helped me implement IE into my life. Lots of hard work, so worthwhile in the end.

Therapy helped with identifying the triggers.
RD helped me with really upending my lifestyle and re-learning food. When to eat, what to eat, why to eat. How to listen to my bodies' cues.
It's been a very long while since I've binged.

OP,
I'm the same way. During the day, it's easier for me to stick to eating healthy, normal portions... But then at night I binge like crazy.
I try my best to go to sleep earlier. It helps! I take a melatonin early in the evening and then fall asleep within the hour. Many times there's no real reason for me to be up late... But I'm distracted by my phone/YouTube/imamother /playing games on my phone...

Can you put away the dinner food before you sit down to eat? Make your plates and do the tidy up? Or enlist someone else's help to put the food away for at least a few days while you break this habit?

When I want to binge at night I find it helpful to drink a warm cup of tea. Get yourself a few flavors.
I also try to stay out of the kitchen after cleaning up supper. Can’t be near food.

I wish I was binging on dinner food! It’s things like gorging on cake, dark chocolate, wafers. Literally as much as I can eat before he gets back.

I should try that- thanks. I sometimes have a decaf coffee but I like it sweet (sweetener not sugar) and I think that sends me in a spiral too.
