My friend is in a “mitzva” chat and there was a request to say Tehillim Perek 13, 13 times a day for 13 days -staring in the 13th of the month.
No other information provided.
Anyone know anything? Why Perek 13 and why 13x:day and for 13 days? Anyone know the mekor or segulah????
Thank you we are so curious and don’t have a clue.

Someone asked me to do it for them as part of 13 people for someone to get engaged - and she did, shortly after.

This segulah helped for 2 family members of mind, one was very unwell and the other was struggling with a job. I'm not sure where the segulah comes from but I know people who it's worked for

There's a worldwide group for this specifically for shidduchim run by a woman in Manchester. There are several hundred singles on the list, divided into groups of 13. All ages on the group from 17.5 to .......

Oy. That's why I don't like segulos. I'm not sure it's any better than trying to do any random thing.
I wore yellow shoes and needed a certain yeshuah and it worked. Was it the yellow shoes?
The bottom line is that if segulos would truly genuinely, really work, it would be obvious.

Excuse my cynicism
The segula is a 13 day segula.
Isnt it probable that she was already seriously involved in her basherte shidduch by the the time you did it?
Its like I gave tzedaka so my sister should be blessed with children and she gave birth three weeks later....

The lady who runs the groups has plenty backup ppl.
You have to text her daily to let her know you have said it. (She sends a reminder).
If she doesn't hear from you close enough to the shekia (after a 2nd reminder) then it goes to the backup who says it instead

I asked my rav about this concept (saying whatever perek of tehillim whatever times for however many days, because somebody that I was close to, was trying to do this for a loved one and she was bothering me incessantly about it. He got SO UPSET. There is ZERO BASIS for this in terms of segula or anything else. This is not how our religion works and it’s avodah zarah to believe this is how to “get” something. Simply saying tehillim, even just one perek but with kavahah is what Hashem wants from us.
