Can anyone tell me about Raanana? Are there only houses or also apartments? Are there families and couples of all ages? We are in our 60s, looking to make aliyah and have heard great things about raanana. We think it fits us but are not sure.
We are pretty modern. I cover some of my hair, wear skirts and pants.
My husband works but when fully retired would like to find a retiree learning program.
We have heard that there are many ex south africans in raanana (thats one of the main reasons why we are looking into raanana, among a few others).
If you have any info on this city it would be wonderful to hear.

Raanana was my first address when I made Aliyah. It is a mix of all age groups, families, singles and all. It's an Olim-friendly place. If you are MO or DL, you will find lots of like minded people. Used to be very Anglo, in recent years there was a lot of French influx. There are single houses and a lot of apartment blocks. Housing prices are definitely on the higher end by Israeli standards.

Sounds like a good fit for you, based on what you described in your post.
The Matan Institute in Raanana has all sorts of learning programs for women, not sure if they have anything specifically for retirees.
