I know it’s tough these days to find a job but I’m really desperate now.
I haven’t worked for a few years now and looking to go back to work. I’m young and very capable and know I would be very valuable to any company that hires me. However, all these recruiting and staffing agencies just look at a resume and I don’t feel that indicates a person’s value. And the job offerings aren’t particularly appealing.
Does anyone know of a company or agency looking to fill more positions?
Any leads or insights to finding a job is greatly appreciated

Indeed and LinkedIn are good places to find jobs. Ask people you know if they have any ideas, or know someone hiring.

Any specific field/industry?
Because recruiters/hiring managers are only looking at your resume for 15-30 seconds, it's important that it reflects well and is put together.
Do you have access to job chats?
Depending on your location, checking out the weekly publications such as The Weekly Link or BP Weekly as well as online sites, such as jobsgemach.com and macherusa.com.
Depending on the recruiter, some will sit down with you and get to know you, so it just depends on their availability and style in the way they run their agency.
If you're applying and not getting any interviews, then maybe look to try to get some feedback from either a recruiter or career coach on what they think is going wrong. It can come down to resume not being polished, asking too much for your experience, polishing up interview skills, etc.
May the right one come up so soon! Good luck!

It is NOT tough to find a job today. The way to find a job is to take a job even if it's not particularly appealing. You think I like the job I have been working at for 10 years now? Think again! It does not align with my personal values or religious values (I have a psak that I can and should work here, don't worry). It's not a frum office. Long hours. Unpredictable boss. But I work 5 days a week, full time. Because the part that is VERY APPEALING to me is the paycheck I bring home. No, it's not a Lakewood or Monsey salary. But it comes with an excellent health insurance package that I can't pass up.
Linked in, google searches, word of mouth. Also knowing it's always easier to find a better job when currently employed, this is a proven rule.
Be willing to work hours that are not ideal, at a job you don't like, in a place that is not ideal. ANYTHING to get a job as long as it's not halachically assur. That is, if you are really desperate.
I am particularly good at helping with resume writing, cover letter writing, and job searches. I'm offering to you to pm me and I'm very happy to help.

Try to apply to job listings that don’t have a recruiter email to send to. And hopefully with Trump being in office there will be more jobs available.

Thank you everyone!
I’m not in the tristate or any big frum community, but don’t either want to specify my location.
The thing is, I’m not willing to just take any job. I don’t believe that’s my hishtadlus right now to take a job that is beneath me or my values…
im not desperate from a financial perspective. Im desperate because my days are empty and I feel extremely unfulfilled and it’s affecting me mentally and emotionally and spilling over onto my family.
So I specifically need a job I will enjoy or at least feel like im contributing in a meaningful way. But I’m also a strong leader and very capable and want to use my kochos, which I’ve been suppressing for far too long.

Are you ready to consider that this might be the reason you're having such a hard time finding anything? Attitude spills over, even onto those recruiting agencies.

It would be hard to get a leadership role without prior recent work experience. You might need to start with a less interesting role with growth potential.

You have the right to be as picky as you want to be if you don't need a job for financial reasons. I would rephrase your OP; you are not desperate, but you are looking for a job in XYZ city, you have XYZ years of experience in XYZ field, you bring XYZ talents to the table, and you are looking for a job that meets XYZ criteria.
Wishing you hatzlacha finding the perfect fit for you and the company you join.

If it's not about the money, would you consider getting involved with a chesed organization, be it a tomchei shabbos type or gemach, and build from there? Once you become known within the organization, there may be a paid position or leadership role available.

If you're not desperate from a financial angle, and maybe you have some extra money to spare, I would look into maybe taking a course - local class and community college, photography, sewing, art etc.
I actually did that while I was working at a reaaaallly boring job. So I made some money, and about 1/3 - 1/2 - depending on what course I was taking - went to my "enrichment " courses. I loved it. ( I was single and didn't have many expenses)
Eventually I left my job and got a more Interesting job that I actually used my brain for.

I have some years of experience working in different but similar types of fields, all social/educational/mentoring. I just took a hiatus for a couple of years.
I am volunteering for an organization now but the work is very minimal and I don’t want to take on more now because I want a job instead.

You may have to take a job you feel is "beneath" you and then work your way up. Most people don't just start at the top, no matter what kochos they have.

I’m not looking to start at the top. I just want to feel like I’m using my talents and abilities

Do you still have contacts in those areas from your former years of employment?
Start by reaching out to your former colleagues and tell them that you are job-hunting, and would appreciate any leads on job openings. Don't be shy.
LinkedIn is a good way to connect with and build your network.

OP, you're being a bit too vague for anyone here to actually help.
If you aren't desperate for a job and want something meaningful that aligns with your values, why don't you start by thinking of something that you actually want to do and then network from there. Maybe the org that you volunteer for has some paid positions?
