I never do eggs and liver. we Dont like it and didn't grow up with it. But I'm having guests this week who may be used to it.
I bought chopped liver.
Is the eggsalad prepared a special way? Does it need to have onion in it? Eyer mit tzviebel?

So if I make with mayo, salt, onion powder, that's inauthentic, Right?

Some people prefer the actual pieces of onion instead of onion powder. But as a host it's your choice.

I do it with mayo, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
Especially if there are kids either don't do onions or what my parents do when we come is have it on the table in a dip bowl so whoever wants can add it.
If I have scallions/spring onions I put that in a bowl and some of my kids like to add it in their egg.

We grate the eggs, and mix it with mayo and some salt, and have onions on the side. I've noticed a lot of guests don't add the onions. I'd always rather leave it out cuz if you DON'T like onions in your eggs it's really unenjoyable, the whole portion takes on the flavor of the eggs and then you have that crunch in each bite...
Others either mix the eggs with some oil and salt and pepper, or just salt and pepper and that's it.
