when my older son went to camp for the first time, we were able to get $1000 towards camp TASHBAR through the PJ library one happy camper grant.
my younger son is begging to go to camp. he is turning 13 this summer. it's just so expensive! I don't see TASHBAR on the list. Does any one know if any of the camps listed are for yeshivish boys? (think Chaim Berlin)

You should be able to search the camps by “movement” on the Foundation for Jewish Camp website. So if you pick orthodox, that’ll show you which camps take OHC/PJ Library. There aren’t a ton of frum camps that do though. Hatzlacha!

yes, I see camps listed under orthodox. but not all are yeshivish. example: gan yisroel is chabad. the zone isn't yeshivish. I don't really know all the camps so I'm asking others.
also, you can't apply for the grant til you register... but I don't want to register if I can't afford it... oish.

Are they super expensive? Isn't it like Midwest... So would I need to then pay airfare??

Gotcha. Hopefully people can help you sort through them. I don’t know boys camps at all. Maybe try searching some of the camp names on here to see if they’ve come up in the past?

Not all agudah camps are covered. My daughters go to bnos and chayil Miriam and they are not included. The camp has to be non profit to be on the list.

Chaverim is wonderful, small, oot yeshivish boys camp. Run by excellent rabbeim from Baltimore and Silver Spring. They get boys from a bunch of oot communities. A lot from Baltimore. It is a fantastic place- can't speak highly enough about it. Lots of reach and a variety of activities.

Is this only for the nj counties listed? Also it’s only if you are a first time camper? If you went last year you can’t apply?

No it isn't. It's a totally mainstream camp. My son has gone for several years.
