Were going away for 10 days. Leaving next sunday and returning the following monday. I was wondering what I should do about challahs for the shabbos that we will be there. It's a 7 hr. car ride. So if I buy challah this friday even if I freeze it it will defrost on the way and then it still has to survive till the following shabbos. I can't imagine how good it will taste. I was thinking of maybe making a dough and freezing that and then making the shapes over there and baking there. I've never frozen challah dough. Does one let the dough rise before freezing or after and how will it be if I take it frozen on a long trip?
Any advice or ideas?
