Same. Everyone either assumes I'm due any day when I still have months to go, or that I've got a few extra babies in there. I get so many comments.

PSA-This goes on the list of things you should never make comments on!
It's so uncomfortable for the receiving end

We didn't tell anyone. I actually didn't look like I was pregnant with twins so no one guessed and everyone had a huge shock!!! It was fun surprising everyone!

I always wonder about this. My twins are teens now. And we didn't tell anyone either.
regarding telling parents during pregnancy, would they have the same surprise only earlier? or is the surprise bigger and more grand if it's after babies are born?

I was never pregnant with multiples.

But I think you can tell people that you are 4/5 weeks ahead, they won't realize how big you are.

So right now, when someone asks how far along you are, say 20 or 21 weeks.

Bshaah tovah!!!

What's the point of that?

We told who we needed to tell. So that meant parents, we each told one friend so we had someone to talk to.
We told siblings and grandparents at the end bc logistically we had to tell one grandparent and one sibling and we felt we should make it fair and tell all once telling one.
I wouldn’t lie about how far along I am, but telling people you are due earlier than you are isn’t a lie if you know you are having them early.

Just say you're a month ahead. Full term twins are 38 weeks anyways.

I think people being referred to as a whale when prgnant is probably where a lot of the insecurity comes from... I would feel really bad if people said that about how I looked

You’re right, that really wasn’t nice. But her twins were about 18 lbs altogether…. She was bigger than a standard twin pregnant mom looks like Smile

I'm pregnant now with twins. 24 weeks!
We just told parents and in laws.
Will wait till after to tell e/o else.
Although I would love to speak to someone else irl who had twins-I have so many questions! I know 2 people who have that I speak to daily but I haven't said anything. Still deciding if I should...

We told family.
Told co-workers and neighbors that I would be due around the date that the doctors would induce me by.

Nobody guessed, my other babies were born between 8-9lbs and I carried the same way with the twin pregnancy.

Who cares what others think.
I don't have twins but carry huge. People think I am carrying twins. I remember being in my 7th month with my 3rd and my brother asked how many I was carrying and didn't believe me when I said only 1. With my youngest I was wearing maternity by 10 weeks.

You really don't need to say anything if you don't want to.

Did anyone ask you outright?

One friend I don’t see often actually asked me when she saw me as a joke. I was so taken back by the question I of course didn’t answer her. I don’t remember what I responded. I don’t understand how people would even ask. It’s not something someone would share and you just make everyone uncomfortable. I normally have big babies so in reality I’m not that much bigger than I usually am at this point.

I didnt tell anyone untill by the 7 month. At 7 month I was huge like by the 9 month my mil confronted my husband if its twin so we had no choice of denying it. Since my mil knew it I wanted to tell my mother too. So I had family simcha at that time and nothing was fitting me so I called my mother over to my house and asked her if she can bring along some stuff of her outfit to try on.? When she came and nothing was fitting me either she was saying you must been having two cuz something is off that nothing fits... there I confirmed...
But didnt tell for any siblings though... maybe they were thinking its two cause I was huge!!!

amother OP wrote:
Who did u tell that you were having twins when you were expecting?
I'm 16 weeks along BH but look much more pregnant than that.
I'm so embarrassed by how much I'm showing and so early even though I know it's for a good reason BH.
Did your co-workers know it was a twin pregnancy? Siblings? Parents?
Our Rav stressed the importance on keeping this as quiet as possible but just curious to hear from others.
