Need a colonoscopy- Lakewood

This is so uncomfortable and I don’t want to go through with this. I’ve been pushing it off for a very long time.
I don’t have a gastroenterologist.
Where should I go for a colonoscopy?
Does it make sense that I prefer a woman or does it not really make a difference?

I just made an appointment with dr Broder at Robert wood Johnson that’s where dr cohens office referred me to. My husband had one and said the day before is worse then the actual procedure

If you don't have symptoms or strong family history, ask your PCP for cologuard
It's a home test that's as accurate as a colonoscopy - not the same as a fecal blood test.
No prep, follow the instructions, do it yourself, no anesthesia, cheap.

I'll second Shore Gastro. Dr Cohen's office sent us there. You dont feel anything during and the recovery from sedation was fast.

Take the anti-nausea pill they advise. it will help the prep.

I’ve used both Shore Gastro and Dr Broder. Had good experiences with both. And yes, the prep is much worse than the actual procedure.

Interesting that a few people mentioned shore gastro.
I just googled them and they have many female providers so I wonder why a woman would choose a male?

Has anyone heard of optum gastro ontology? My husband had a colonoscopy done with one of their dr.’s - dr musicant. It was done at kimball/monthmouth medical center.
He said it wasn’t so bad but he is really not phased by these types of things.

I really thought I would prefer using a female but maybe that’s not so important?

I did one a year and change ago and previously had one a decade or so before and found the prep was way less nasty so don't be worried about that part.

If people are happy with a facility, then choose a female. Why not?
These things bother me too so the more comfortable you are the better.

DH had one and said the prep wasnt actualyl to bad.. SO much that he was worried he didnt do it correctly.
In terms of male vs female, they only see your behind ( at least I think), and I cant beleive thats zexy at all. See link: https://www.cancercenter.com/c.....scopy
In terms of the poster who mentioned doing a cologuard, firstly, I dont beleive thats as accuate, but secondly, with a colonoscpy, if they see a polyp, they can remove them on the spot, with the cologuard, they cant do that.
